Surprise Engagement at Upper Kananskis Lake

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of capturing a surprise engagement session at Upper Kananskis Lake, a stunning natural wonder nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. It was a winter wonderland, with snow-covered trees and snow-capped mountains in the background. The scene was absolutely breathtaking.

I was pretty worried as I made the drive to Upper Kananskis Lake as I made my way through a blizzard. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to see any of the scenery. You could barely see enough to drive let alone pull out a camera and capture the epic scenery. About 20 minutes before I reached the Lake, just as I was coming around a mountain, the blizzard cleared up in a flash. The mountains really got to show off it's winter wonderland with fresh fallen snow.

The day started off like any other photography session, with the couple, Shawn and Skylar, arriving at the lake bundled up in warm winter clothing. Little did Shawn know, Skylar had been planning this moment for months. He had chosen this beautiful location as the perfect spot to ask Sarah to spend the rest of her life with him.

As we began taking photos, Skylar started to act a little nervous, which is to be expected in such a big moment. But as we moved to a spot near the lake, he dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring. Shawn

was absolutely stunned and overjoyed, and of course, she said yes!

We continued the session, taking advantage of the beautiful winter scenery and capturing the happiness and love of this newly-engaged couple. The snow created a magical atmosphere that added an extra touch of romance to the photos. We took advantage of the beautiful winter scenery, taking photos with the lake, trees, and mountains in the background.

As the session came to an end, Shawn and Skylar were still beaming with happiness, and it was clear that this day would be unforgettable. This is why I love photography - being able to capture such special moments and memories that will last a lifetime.

Congratulations to Shawn and Skylar on their engagement! I feel grateful to have been able to document this special moment and wish them all the happiness in their future together.
